Frequently Asked Questions
Our sensor uses thermal-sensor fusion in order to classify the foot traffic in your location. This thermal-imaging technology is paired with machine-learning algorithms that optimize the sensor for retail conditions.
The sensors algorithms are trained in a vast array of different operating conditions so that accuracy is consistent across your deployments.
Classification of the number of people, direction of travel, and ignoring other items like shopping carts is all processed on the sensor in real-time.
Dôr sensors are being used in a variety of locations. Here are some of the most common use cases:
-
Retail Stores/ Shopping Centres
-
Multi-occupancy buildings
-
Offices
-
Grocery Stores
-
Restaurants/ Eateries
-
Bars/ Pubs
-
Changing Rooms
-
Restrooms
In short, wherever there is a business need to count foot traffic indoors, you have yourself a need for a people counting solution!
-
Due to the Dôr sensor mounting at the entrances and exits, it does not track visitor flow around your store or premises.
Occupancy calculations require a complex algorithm with 100% accuracy rate in two directions. In retail, Dor typically exposes a single direction count. This allows us to provide the most accurate count possible. Currently Dor does not calculate occupancy in retail environments. Dor's occupancy algorithms work in selected workspace use cases.
As long as you have integrated your point of sale system with the Dôr dashboard, you will be able to see:
-
Volume of foot traffic
-
Conversion rate
-
Revenue
-
Number of transactions
-
Average transaction value (ATV)
For a comprehensive run through, watch our demo here.
-
Under normal operating conditions the sensor counts individuals over 4 feet high. This should rule out any children, pets or trolleys that are under this height.
The sensor is and indoor device and is installed on the top side of a door frame. The sensor will work on door frames no larger that 12ft (3.6m) high and 8ft (2.4m) wide.
For a more complete guide, please see our Door Installation Guide.
If you are using Square, Shopify, Vend or Lightspeed Rail, you can integrate your point of sale data through the Admin / POS set up on your Dashboard.
If you have another POS system, custom POS integrations are offered to qualified customers. Please contact us to learn more on how to get set up for a custom integration.
